Leland got these glasses at a birthday party back in May. I have been trying since then to get him to leave them on long enough for me to take a picture. Success at last, only 3 months later, but at least we got a picture.

A New Cast Celebration
Sutton got his new cast on August 21st. Everything went as expected. The doctor said that everything is setting where it should be and looks ok. She also said if we can make it 6 weeks in this cast that she would take it off after that, which is 1 week less than she originally told us, YEAH!! This cast is fiber glass, so he is a little bit lighter. The only difference is the bar between the legs, but that hasn't been too much of an obstacle. We will go back in 2 weeks for a check-up.

Finally!!!
NASCAR Fever
NASCAR was in town this past weekend and if you know Nate at all that means a trip to the track. He didn't have tickets to go to the race, but we thought Leland would enjoy looking at the booths, cars, and tractors that were set up. It was not as hot as it has been, but there wasn't much of a breeze that day so it was plenty warm. Before leaving the house I asked Nate do you think we need the umbrella stroller for Leland. He said no, he can walk. You can guess the ending, no Leland didn't want to walk, but insisted on being carried, so Nate and I took turns pushing Sutton and carrying Leland. Note to self, next time take the umbrella stroller, even if you don't think you will need it!!!!
Tree House
Leland and I went to the Tree House in Chelsea (an indoor climbing/play gym) last week with my friend Dawn and her daughter Kahlen. Leland was actually a little intimidated, but by the time it was time to go he was doing some of the things on his own. Dawn and I both tried to get a picture of the two of them, the one I posted is the only one I got. I know I got my work out that day, I had to help Leland up most of the climbing parts because the steps were almost as tall as he was. We did have a great time!!!!
Rare opportunity
Trooper Kapnick
Destination Exploration
Sutton has discovered that he can put his hand or hands into his cast. The first time he did this Nate and I laughed so hard we cried, maybe you had to be here for the full effect. He just looked like he knew exactly what he was doing, hopefully this is a habit that disappears once the cast is removed!!! This habit can be very messy especially if he has pooped!!!

John Deere Man
Best Friends For A Moment
Leland has not yet learned how to leave Winston alone, so as you can imagine Winston gets rather frustrated. However on this day (of course because there was water involved) Winston was more than happy to be Leland's friend. Leland couldn't have been happier, what little guy doesn't enjoy spraying the dog down with the hose!!!
