The First Capture Of The Season
God definetly did not make me with the love of bugs gene like he did Leland. I have to say that I really am not a fan of bugs. Sure I dont' mind looking at them, some of them are pretty neat, but I surely don't like holding them and keeping them in a bug house (which has found its way into our house). Leland found this catipillar and of course needed to put it in his bug house. He asks to hold it everyday. I do have to say though that I am actually starting to feel sorry for the number of bugs that have died because of our capture!! I think we will begin teaching Leland the capture for a day and release method.
Walking With Arms Held High
With the acquisition of any milestone as a parent you feel excitement. So was the case with Sutton taking his first steps. I think we waited with greater anticipation to see him walk just because of all he has been through. His steps of course came gradually, but then one day he just took off!!! The day I took Leland to the library my grandma came to stay with Sutton. When we got home she said that he had walked from the living room to the keeping room several times, I was a bit surprised and needed to see it with my own eyes. Sure enough a bit after we were home he walked the full length of the living room. The next day he was walking the full length of our bathroom and into my closet. I would say that he is probably walking about 50% of the time, as crawling his still his quickest means of movement.
Wrestle Mania
Anytime Sutton is out of site for more than a couple of minutes or we hear squealing and what sounds like the thumping of a head on the wall we know where to find him. In our bedroom wrestling with the pillows. This seems to be his new favorite activity. Right now we are just saying that we are glad it is the pillows and not Leland, we are sure this won't be too far away!!

Easter
Spring Break Fun
Spring break has come and gone, now it doesn't even feel like we had a break!!! It was so nice to be home with the boys and to be on our own schedule. While we didn't go anywhere warm, we did enjoy some fun activities. One of the days Leland and I went to the library for toddler time (this was his first visit to the library). We then went about looking for some books to check out. I asked one of the gals working there what the limit was for checking out books (as Leland is pulling book after book off the shelf saying I want this one). She states there is no limit, only how ever many you want to be responsible for. 7 books (all about tractors and cows) and 1 DVD later we were ready. One of the days we went to the Tree House with my friend Dawn and her 2 daughters. And another day Nate took Leland for a visit to the nearby mega farm to see some cows and tractors. With spring break gone it is now time to begin counting down to summer vacation!!!!
Crazy Critters
Being up close and personal with a variety of crazy critters (tree frog, blue tongue lizard, etc) did not end up being Leland's cup of tea like I thought it would be. Leland had the opportunity to touch all kinds of critters at his pre-school. Of all the critters he could touch the only one that he finally decided to touch was a mouse!!!
