Round 2
Back in April Leland caught a tadpole at daycare. When he was done at daycare for the summer we brought the tadpole home. All was going well until about 2 weeks ago when I decided the tadpole needed some fresh water. We got some more water from the same pond, but for some reason the tadpole did not like the change of water. Leland was bummed that the tadpole was gone and so was I. So I went to a local garden center that sells tadpoles and I bought a couple. These were already much larger, so hopefully they make it!!

Birthday Buckaroo
Leland turned the big 3 yesterday. I know he is only 3, but the time has already gone so quickly!!! We had a day filled with lots of fun. We started the day by going to the park with my grandma. While Leland was napping I wrapped his presents and made the mistake of leaving them on the counter, which he noticed as soon as he got up. Once he saw them he was bugging every 2 minutes to open them. It just about killed him to have to wait until Nate got home from work. He finally got his cow poop tanker that he has been asking for. We took Leland out for dinner. Like father like son, he wanted ribs. On our way home we happened upon a wheat field that was being harvested. I think stopping on the road side to watch the combine and straw balers work was the highlight of his day. Once we got home we had some yummy ice cream cake from Maggie Moo's. The best part of the cake, when you eat all the green frosting in one sitting it gives you John Deere green poop!!

Turtle Time
Catching a turtle was proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be, until we finally struck gold in early June. We had 2 turtles in our yard on the same day. Nate found the first one and while the kids were eating a snack we saw another one walking up our walkout basement. Neither of the turtles were very excited about being captured (can't imagine why), so we only kept them for a couple of hours. During those couple of hours everyone enjoyed and was very curious about the turtles, including Winston!!
Loads Of Fun!!!
