Puppy Fix

The puppies turned 4 weeks old the weekend we returned from Spring Break.  Any time after they were 4 weeks old we were able to come for a visit and since we could hardly wait to see them we went the very next weekend.  As you can imagine they were all so cute!!  We are getting closer each day to being able to bring Winchester home and we can hardly wait!!

Student Of The Month Goes Out To Sutton!!

Yeah, Sutton earned student of the month for March.  The goal for March was reading for pleasure.  Sutton has blown us away with the progress he has made this year.  He is already reading at an early first grade level.  He loves the challenge of getting to the next level.

There She Blows

On one of our many snow days we decided to try a science experiment.  The experiment was to make a snow volcano using vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring for extra effect.  The boys of course were much more interested in the hands on part of the experiment, but they tolerated my scientific explanation as to what was happening.

Bubble Blowing Monster

Sutton has finally figured out how to blow bubbles.  Now we are just waiting for him to blow one big enough to cover his face when it pops!!

Marshmallow Master Pieces

In an effort to let the boys explore their creative sides I thought it would be fun to give them marshmallows and toothpicks and see what they could create.  They quickly learned that whatever they were building would need a wide base.  Once they had this figured out the rest was history and we had drag cars, houses, a double decker couch (from the Lego movie), and a multitude of other objects!!

The Newest Kapnick Addition

We are getting more excited by the day to bring home our newest addition, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy.  We hooked up with a breeder who we found out about from the owner of the Christmas tree farm where we have gotten our tree the last 2 years.  When we first met with the breeder he had a litter of puppies, but of course they were already all spoken for.  He then let us know that he had another female who would be expecting in mid-March.  When Nate and I heard mid-March we were excited because Winston was born on March 15, but we thought it would never happen to have the new puppy born on the same day.  The breeder let us know he would call us when the puppies were 3 days old.  Well 3 days after March 15 came and went with no phone call.  Then finally the breeder called and let us know the puppies had been born.  I heard Nate ask him "so exactly what day were they born?"  The next thing Nate said was "your not going to believe this, that was the same day our other dog was born!"  We were very excited to have the puppy share a birthday with Winston, it just made it feel like this was really what we were suppose to be doing!!  The new puppy will be named Winchester.  The boys are looking forward to meeting him, which we will get to do once he is 4 weeks old.

You can see pictures of him with his brothers and sisters at:  www.chessiecentral.com
Once at this site scroll down to the bottom of the page and there will be a face book link.  Any pictures of him and siblings will be listed as Jess and Three Man puppies.
