Iowa Bound

The first road trip of our summer was a trip to Iowa to see my brother and his family.  We had a great time!!  It is always nice to see them since we don't get to see them very often.  We stayed busy everyday we were there.  We had fun at the water park, a hands on museum, watching Skyler play a baseball game, having ice cream, playing at the park, playing miniature golf, and racing go-karts.

The True Definition of Dirt Bike Riding

I think these pictures depict the true definition of dirt bike riding.  The boys have lots of activities they enjoy and this definitely ranks right up there as a favorite!!

Major League

The day before the 4th of July we traveled with several people from OCRC (the organization who manages the baseball teams) to a Detroit Tigers game.  We all rode on a charter bus complete with door prize drawings and good movies.  On the way to the game we watched the Sand Lot.  Our boys had never watched it so it was a perfect movie.  It was actually more fun watching Leland watch the movie than actually watching the movie.  Leland was laughing so hard I am surprised he didn't wet his pants!!!  Needless to say this ended up being one of his birthday presents.  We had a great time at the game and the boys can't wait till we go again.

Batter Up!!

The boys enjoyed a great season of baseball this summer.  They both played machine pitch for the first time.  This seemed to be a big step up from T-ball, but they both did well.  Sutton took a couple of balls to the index finger, one of which landed us in the ER.  Thankfully it was just badly bruised.  After Leland finished his regular season he then played with a "travel" team.  This made the season run until about mid-July.  Saturdays were full days of baseball tournaments!
