This year for Halloween we spent the evening with our friends the Johnson's. They were kind enough to prepare a big pot of chili and some corn bread for dinner. After dinner we headed out for some candy collecting. As always the boys got way more candy than any one child needs!! Leland's costume couldn't have been more fitting as his love of WWII continues. We were able to find this WWII army sergeant costume on-line. Sutton's country music singer costume was also fitting as he continues to want to take guitar lessons.

No Pumpkin Guts This Year
The boys both decided to paint their pumpkins this year. Completing both of them ended up being a several day project, but we did get them finished before Halloween. Leland kept with his WWII theme and turned his pumpkin into an atomic bomb. Sutton decided he would paint his as an eyeball. Both were very easy to complete so no complaints here!

Weather As Usual
It never fails the day we decide to go pick out pumpkins it always rains!! This year was no exception. The kids don't mind jumping the mud puddles though.
First Day Blues
The first official day back to school is always rough. Every year I think it is going to get easier, but it never does. I guess that is mainly due to the fact that I know the kids are 1 year closer to moving out! This year the dog was also not very happy. That very first morning he got up for a short time and then went straight back to his bed and had the saddest eyes!!
The Unfamiliar And The Not So Unfamiliar
Meet the teacher night was a blur!! The boys both had a football scrimmage in Britton the same night and it was my first day back to work! Nothing like trying to cram everything into 1 day. Leland was lucky enough to loop to 5th grade with his teacher and entire class from 4th grade. While Sutton is embarking on a new adventure with a new teacher after having had the same teacher for 1st and 2nd grades. So far so good!!
