Christmas Formal
In 3rd grade the students don't have a traditional Christmas party, but participate in a Christmas formal. Leland kept telling Sutton how awful it was going to be, but I don't think thought it was as bad as Leland! While the students were at specials us parents helped to transform the room. Suttons teacher also invited some of the administrative staff to join the students during the meal. Mr. Hamilton sat with Sutton's table. At the time of the formal he was serving as the interim superintendent. The funny thing is he was also mine and Nate's middle school principle!!
Camo
Camo arrived a little later this year than in years past, but he came bearing gifts. The kids always enjoy their Lego advent calendar to count down the days to Christmas!
Putting On All The Sparkle
We truly did find the perfect tree this year. It was the tallest tree we have had and was not too fat! What wasn't so perfect this year was the lights. I had only 1 strand to go and we needed to leave to go to some friends house. When we got home I plugged the tree in and 1 of the strands decided not to work. I start taking that strand off because it was the last 1 I had put on. In the meantime another strand goes out and I can't find the end of it!! So I just push it back into the tree as far as I can. With 2 strands down I am going to need more lights!! So at 9:00 p.m. I run to town so I can try and get my lights finished. Thankfully once it was all decorated it looked great and hopefully now that I have new lights I won't run into the same lighting issues next year!!
Christmas Parade
Another favorite Christmas tradition is watching the Tecumseh holiday parade. As usual it was pretty cold that night so by the time the parade started our toes were frozen from just standing. Unfortunately my camera battery died and I was only able to get 2 pictures.
Never Gets Old
The anticipation of Christmas and going to pick out our Christmas tree never gets old. Picking our perfect tree was the best Black Friday shopping experience! We again went to the same tree farm we have visited for the last several years. We enjoyed ourselves as usual! After selecting our perfect tree we wrapped up the night with a tasty dinner at Saucy Dogs.

Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL?!!
Sutton could hardly wait for the first football practice and game. This kid was so geeked about playing tackle football, it was funny! He actually wore his helmet in the car on the way to the first practice. Sutton started the season playing quarterback. The coaches then decided he was too fast and he finished out the season playing running back and defensive back
Leland had a great season. He played running back, wide receiver, and defensive back this year. He has made a lot of growth and is playing well on offense and defense. He had a phenomenal last game and carried the ball well and I even got some pictures of his ball carries!! And its off to the next sport.....after Leland's last football game we headed to the mall to buy basketball shoes!! No rest for the poor parents!
