Mr. Bear
Leland got Mr. Bear from Nate's Aunt Jana. It has been in his bed since day 1. It wasn't until recently that he became interested in him. At night time he can be found holding him like a baby over his shoulder. He will also bring him downstairs on occasion. This day when he brought him down I could hear him telling Mr. Bear it was going to be ok. He then brought his rocking chair into the kitchen(we were cooking dinner) and said "I don't know why Mr. Bear is crying."

Party Time
Thanks to the Boland's for the invitation to Olivia's first birthday. The party was complete with clowns, balloons, and face painting. I wasn't able to snap many pictures as I ended up having to manage both kids on my own (Nate had to work). Leland was unsure of the clowns, but was curious about the balloon figures all the other kids had. It only took him about 2 hours to agree to have something painted on his face. He decided that he wanted a monster truck and he told the clown that. She said "Oh I only do whole face painting, not cheek art". My instant reaction was "Well I really don't want his whole face painted." It took only a couple of minutes then she decided that she could do a spider for him and thankfully he was ok with that. He also had a dog made out of balloons. On the way home it popped and he kept asking me to fix it. I explained to him over and over that once a balloon pops you can't fix it. He finally said to me "I will have daddy fix it." Too funny!!

1685 Influenza Ave.
Well it all started with the letter that is attached to this blog. Leland came home from preschool with the letter last Thursday. Of course Leland came down with the wonderful stuff Thursday night. Of course I had a "mandatory" meeting at work on Friday, but I did skip out for the afternoon so I could take Leland to the pediatrician. Curious to know if he had strep throat. The pediatrician said it was just a bad virus. Things looked good for everyone else until some time early Sunday morning. Sutton now had it. I went to work on Monday and Nate's aunt Kay came to stay with the boys. She called me around noon saying that Sutton was continuing to go down hill. So it was another trip to the pediatrician. They didn't even ask to see my insurance card because we had just been there!! Sutton was confirmed as having infuenza type a. We were told to expect the fever to last for 5 days. Let's just say that was not good news, knowing how the last 2 nights had been!!! I stayed home from work on Tuesday and Wednesday (today). Still so far so good for the adults!! At about 11:00 my phone rings, it's Nate. Hum, that is unusal, his lunch isn't until 11:30 and he never calls unless he is on break or lunch. His hello is not sounding good and he wants to know if I need anything from town before he comes home. Man another one is down for the count. Since returing from work Nate has not moved, well except to go from the bed to the couch. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I remain healthy!!

VROOOM VROOOM, Snowmobiling!!!!
I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my birthday weekend than snowmobiling with my family in Cadilac. Leland had been bugging to ride Nate's snowmobile and I had really been suffering from snowmobiling withdrawl (I haven't been able to go since before getting pregnant with Leland) so we decided to take a road trip. Sue, Dean, and Flave (a friend that Nate works with) joined us. We arrived late Friday night, after a long car ride (this was definetly not the part that Leland enjoyed the most). On the way there I realized that we had forgotten to bring the pack n play, but it actually worked out great, the hotel had one that we could use. Leland was like a little king laying in the king sized bed. On Saturday morning after our breakfast we got ourselves bundled up and headed out. It seems that not many things go smoothly these days, so was true this morning. Just as we were getting ready to go I asked Nate what he had done with his trail sticker. His response was, I left it in the car. So he and Leland attempted to make their way to the car. On the way Nate had a little trouble and before he knew it he and Leland were on the ground and the snowmobile was on its side. Well thank goodness that was the only tipped sled for the day. Leland made it a whopping 27.5 miles, we were impressed. By that time his poor little head could no longer hold up his helmet. So it was Nana to the rescue, her and Sutton came to pick him up at the gas station where we had stopped. We continued riding the rest of the day, it was so great!! Once back at the hotel we had a little dinner and then made our way to the pool. Only one mishap here!! Leland was sitting on the edge of the pool with me and I looked away for literally a second and I hear a splash and down he goes. He was ok just a little shook up. He even mangaed to hang onto the piece of gum he was chewing. The next morning as we were packing up Sutton decided to be his usually hammy self and play around with Nate's hat, too cute!! We then had another long car ride home, Leland didn't decide to go to sleep until we were about a half an hour from home!!
Tip Up Time!!!
Back at the beginning of February we participated in our local tip-up festivities. On Friday of that weekend Nate, Leland, and I headed out on the ranger to do the red light run. Leland was amazed with all the four wheelers, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, etc. that were on the lake. We only got stuck once and we managed our way through all the slush pockets on the lake!! Sutton stayed back at Nana and Poppa's with his cousin Bailey. Saturday Leland spent the day with Nate watching the races and building snowmen with a new friend, Kelsey. Tip-up was definetly right up Lelands alley!!!
