Too Many Lasts

Sutton attended his last official day of daycare on June 7th.  I have to say it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me with Leland finishing kindergarten and Sutton finishing daycare, but I made it through!!  The plan is for Sutton to attend preschool in the fall.

Bring On Summer!!

Leland's last day of kindergarten was May 31st.  He met the day with excitement, but also a little sadness because he knew he would no longer be in Mrs. Days class.  He had a great year and learned lots.  It has been excting to see his academic growth!!

A Graduate Already!!

All the kindergarten teachers in Leland's school put together a very nice graduation program.  The kids sang some songs.  The principal then passes out a diploma to each student.  It was cute because as he passed out the diplomas he read a statement from each child about what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Leland said he wanted to be in the army, not sure what happened to being a farmer!!

End Of The School Year Road Trip

The last two weeks of school were pretty busy for Leland and included a field trip to Binder Park Zoo.  My dad, Sutton and I all tagged along.  Everyone had a fun time.  The best part was feeding the giraffes and of course riding the carousel.

Turtles!!

Not long ago Nate found this snapper turtle in our yard.  We don't often find turtles in our yard, but with the swamp just down the road it is not unusual.  Then the mail lady came and Leland was telling her about the turtle and she let us know that there was another turtle down by the swamp, so of course the boys had to go see it.  I was surprised when Sutton agreed to pick it up!!

Out For A Sunday Ride

My dad and Uncle Kevin have collected gas engines/old tractors for quite some time.  Of course this is right up Leland and Sutton's alley!!  There is a tractor show near our house that my dad and uncle go to every year.  The kids were excited this year because my dad let them drive the little tractors all alone!!  The only mishap, when Sutton went to park the tractor he ran into the front of my uncle's truck.  Thank goodness there wasn't any damage!!

U of M Baseball

A while back we were invited to a birthday party at the U of M baseball field.  We all had a great time.  The kids got to go out on the field while they sang the national anthem.  The kids also enjoyed the bounce house.  The highligt of the game was when Sutton got a foul ball.  Nate got into a little trouble getting this ball.  He ran out into the parking lot to get it and got yelled at by some workers, so he had to come back in.  The workers then went to get the ball and gave it to Sutton.  The only bad part is they don't let you keep the ball.  They make you turn it back in and you get a small bag.

Me And My Boys

1st Game Of The Season

T-ball is in full swing.  They both enjoy playing 1st base (since this is the only position the kids get to "play").  They often ask to hit balls at home, which is ok until they hit a line drive right at you!!

Swamp Adventures With Friends

What can be better than any swamp adventure?  A swamp adventure with friends!!  Whats the only thing that can spoil any swamp adventure?  Poison ivy, which seems to be Suttons friend this summer!!
