We Love Katie!!
Pam's brother and his family were here for a visit not long ago. The boys adore Katie, Pam's niece and love spending time with her when they are here. This time we were able to go to a movie, spend some time at the lake, and go out to eat a couple of times. As always it was also nice to see Steve and Geryl!!
A Breakfast Fit For Super Heros!!
We don't normally let the boys eat in any of the dress-up clothes, but we made an exception this morning. It turned out to be a breakfast fit for super heros!!
Hold On!!
The boys decided they wanted to try out a new sport, tubing. They were both very excited, but I don't think they truly knew how it would be until after they experienced it. Leland enjoyed it more than Sutton and has gone a couple times since the first time. Sutton has not been that excited about going again, but he has rode with Ashley (a cousin) and me.

Fire Cracker Road Race
Our men's club sponsors the local fireworks each year. This year to assist with raising money for them a 7K run was held. I had never ran in a road race, but jog regularly. I had actually been jogging nearly the same course the race would be so I figured it shouldn't be bad. I ran with my good friend Amy, who also jogs with me regularly. We had a good time and are looking forward to doing it again next year. We are also thinking about running more races together!!
The End Of Another Season
T-ball drew to a close at the end of June. The boys enjoyed playing again. Sutton continues to often ask to hit balls.

Insect Safari
The boys and I headed out to a nearby state park for a class on insects. Since our weather has been so dry and the day we went was really hot we really did not find many insects out. However, this did not slow them down on having a good time. The instructor took us out on a small dock that had railings all around it. Sutton being the investigator that he is thought he saw an insect in the water and decided to reach for it. This might not have been so bad, however he had also found the only section of dock that had no railing and you can guess what happened next. In the water he went and of course Leland and I were out near the end of the dock looking for other insects. Thankfully the water was only about waist deep and another dad happened to be standing right there. When he came out of the water he literally had seaweed in his shoes and hair (the water was pretty gross!!). After that he was a bit grumpy and didn't want me to take his picture. Needless to say I got one and he had to ride home naked.

A Visit With Some Sweet Southners
We were recently able to spend some time with one of Nates cousins and his family who had come back to Michigan from Tennesse. Andy and his family were staying with his dad who has a swimming pool so we were also able to enjoy some time swimming. I have only met Carol, Andys wife one other time, but I have to say she is such a sweet gal and I just love her accent!! Nate always enjoys seeing Andy also. And of course our boys love their boys Cory and Colston.

Adventuring In Michigan
My friend Amy and I embarked on a couple hour adventure with all our kids. We met up with her sister at Michigan Adventure near the end of June. We all had a good time. I think the only disappointment came when Sutton found out he was not tall enough to ride some go-karts that all the other kids were riding. They were both tall enough to ride a small rollercoaster so that was exciting for both of them!!

No Better Place For Breakfast
We attended our second breakfast on the farm at the end of June. This years farm was a nearby dairy farm. It should come as no surprise that the boys enjoyed all the farm animals and of course the tractors!!
