Sutton participated in a short basketball league through school during the late winter months. As with any sport he had a good time!

No Hot Air Here
We decided to try our hands at blowing up a balloon by using a method other than our mouth. We used vinegar and baking soda to create carbon dioxide which is a gas that was able to blow up our balloons.
Magnetic Slime
This experiment was a bit messy, so of course the boys loved it!! We made magnetic slime using iron oxide powder. We then used magnets with a higher magnetic power to pick up the slime. We also experimented to see if we could make magnetic peanut butter and it worked!!

Baby It's Cold Outside!
We finally made it to the U.P. to go snowmobiling this winter. This was the first time we have been to the U.P. since we have had kids. We picked the wrong weekend to go though. It was between 35 and 40 below zero with blowing winds the weekend we were there, so we didn't really get in much riding. We actually wimped out before the kids! We still had a great time and many memories were made. We stayed in Strongs which is a teeny tiny town we have stayed a couple times with my aunt and uncle. Our last night there the power went out about 10:00. We decided to pack our things up by candle light and head for the lower peninsula. We weren't sure we were going to find a hotel room because of a hockey tournament, but thankfully we were able to get the last room at the Holiday Inn Express just over the bridge. It was a long night, but at least we found power!
Team Work
Not sure how it happens, but when building a snowman we always seem to get the snow balls so heavy that we can barely lift them. Good thing for team work!
Happy Birthday Daryl!
Nate celebrated a birthday back in February. Since it was on a week night we just went for a quick dinner at Outback.
Can You Pick Up An Ice Cube With A String?
I bet you can if you know the trick!! The kids discovered that you can pick up an ice cube with a string if you melt the ice cube a bit with some salt.
