The Big "10"
Leland could not understand why I made such a big deal about him turning 10. I tried explaining, but he never really got it!!! The whole double digit thing just doesn't mean anything to him yet, give him time!! We had such a great time at his party!!!! We hosted the party at my Aunt Kyle and Uncle Tim's lake house. The weather was a bit chilly and cloudy at the start, but it turned around and we had a beautiful day. We played some fun games as you can see from the pictures. The boys also got in plenty of tubing time thanks to James!! This was by far one of my favorite parties!!
The First Celebration
Lee turned the big "10" in July. Our first celebration included dinner with Pam, Al, my dad, and Kathy. Lee chose Texas Road House.
Engaging Our Brains
We did not do as many science experiments this summer as last summer, but we did manage to squeak in a few. We first tried to see if we could make an egg float by mixing different items in the water. We only got the egg to barely come up off the bottom of the cup. Next we set out to see if we could bend water with a balloon. We learned that with the help of static electricity we could! Lastly we set out to see if we could get a hard boiled egg into a bottle that's opening was too small. We learned that by changing the air pressure inside the bottle by changing the temperature that you can indeed get an egg to squeeze into a space that is too small. We changed the temperature by putting matches into the bottle. Sutton wondered if we could change the temperature by adding hot tap water. We tried this too. The egg did go down a little!
